Abstract Submission Guidelines

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstracts MUST be submitted electronically through the Conference website www.accypn.org.au/conference go to Abstracts and follow the instructions.

This will take you to the ACCYPN 2021 Abstract Submission Portal. You will need to set up your User Access to the Abstract Portal with your own email and password.

Full detail of how to submit the Abstract and what information is required / questions to respond to are within the Abstract Submission Portal.

Among other details, information required: 

  • Abstract Title – a brief and interesting description of the presentation (maximum 50 words) 
  • Theme Presentation - Recognising the Contribution of Children & Young People’s Nurses
  • Sub Theme of Presentation - Choose one (1) of the following: 
    1. Rural and Remote Health
    2. Indigenous Health Care
    3. Clinical Paediatrics
    4. Nurse Led Models of Care / Integrated and Interdisciplinary Models of Care
    5. Neonatal Care
    6. Focusing on Young People’s Issues
    7. Strengthening the Workforce
    8. Other
  • Preferred Presentation Type
    • Oral
    • ePoster
    • Rapid Fire Oral
  • Authors’ Names (please indicate presenting authors)
  • Authors’ Affiliations
  • Short Biography of presenter (maximum 100 words). This information will be used by the Session Chairs for introduction purposes and will be published in the Conference App, Website & Virtual Conference Portal.
  • Abstract – Oral and / or Poster - maximum 250 words using the headings:
    • Aim
    • Method
    • Results
    • Conclusion
Abstract must be uploaded using the Abstract Template – Oral & Poster

  • Abstract – Rapid Fire Oral - maximum 250 words using the headings:
    • Background and identifying the problem
    • The aim or purpose of the initiative
    • Target group or population for the initiative
    • What were the methods and strategies used
    • Describe the outcomes and impact of the implemented initiative

Abstract must be uploaded using the Abstract Template – Rapid Fire Oral 

Please Note:

You can save unfinished submissions to return to later. You can also alter your submission at any time prior to the closing date (20 April 2021).

No references are to be included.

Only Abstracts submitted in English will be reviewed.

Abstracts should be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar before submission.

Do not include author names, institution or other identifiers in your Abstract text as all Abstracts will be blind reviewed.

Multiple Abstract submissions will be accepted.

Abstract Assessment

All submitted Abstracts are subjected to blind-peer review by two (2) specialists in the field.

The type of presentation offered to the authors (oral, eposter or rapid fire presentation) will be the decision of the Scientific Program Committee.

SELECTION CRITERIA (All submissions) 

Abstracts will be assessed against the following criteria (evenly weighted): 
  • Interest to an international audience
  • Merit of research or non-research Abstract
  • Relevance to the Conference Theme
  • Relevance to the Theme selected
  • Clarity of Abstract
Conditions of Abstract Submission
  • Only Abstracts submitted online will be considered by the Scientific Program Committee – please do not post or email an Abstract as it will not be considered.
  • When the Scientific Program Committee has finalised the review process, those who submitted Abstracts will be notified by email of the acceptance or otherwise of their Abstract (by 21 May 2021 11 June 2021).
  • Acceptance of Abstracts is subject to the submission and review of the Abstract.
  • The decision of the Scientific Program Committee is final.
  • It is a condition of your Abstract Submission that at least one (1) author must register and pay to attend and present the Abstract at the Conference as an In Person or Virtual Delegate.
  • Abstract presenters must provide a pre-recorded video of their presentation by Friday  23 July 2021.  Abstract guidelines will be provided upon abstract acceptance. 
  • All successful Abstracts will be published on the Conference Website, App and Virtual Conference Portal.
  • Abstracts must be approved by your Organisation for publication and must not breach copyright.
  • A recording of your presentation will be available on demand for registered Conference Delegates and may be offered for sale for ongoing Professional Development of Children and Young People’s Nurses.
